Task
The user journey starts with registration and discovery, then moves to a mutual match and a private conversation. The service also needs profile checks, moderation and background processes. My task was to connect these flows through the API and backend, taking the sensitivity of profiles and conversations into account.
Solution
Developed a Django REST API with PostgreSQL for data storage. Connected registration, profile checks, discovery and matching to private chat using Channels. Used Redis and Celery for background work. User actions and service operations have different jobs and separate flows.
My contribution
- Developed the API for registration, profile checks and core user actions.
- Connected discovery, mutual matches and private chat into one journey.
- Implemented the backend for chat and background processes supporting the service.

Outcome
