Task
Creators need to publish beats and manage their storefronts. Buyers need to find a track, understand the license and pay for an order. Behind that journey are catalog management, order records and publishing to external platforms. The task was to bring those parts into one product, connecting a purchase to order processing.
Solution
Built the backend with Django and PostgreSQL. The catalog, creator and buyer accounts, licenses and orders share one API. Connected Stripe for payment and a partner API for publishing content to external platforms. The admin side works with the same products and orders that support the user journey.
My contribution
- Designed the product and API: catalog, accounts and the relationship between a license and an order.
- Implemented the purchase flow, payment integration and order handling.
- Connected content publishing to external platforms and the admin side.
How it works
Publish
A creator adds a beat and manages the storefront from their account.
Find a track
A buyer finds the track they need in the catalog.
Choose a license
Chooses the terms of use before placing an order.
Pay and process
Completes payment. The order becomes part of the operations workflow.
Stack
- Django
- Django REST
- PostgreSQL
- Redis
- Stripe
Outcome
Creators, buyers and the operations team work within one product. Publishing a beat, selecting a license, payment and order processing are connected. The public storefront is available through the product link.
Public version
Only public interfaces and the general technical scope are shown. Commercial metrics and internal processes remain private.
